Incessant rain inundates low-lying areas in Punjab cities

LAHORE (92 News) - The incessant rain inundates low-lying areas in several cities of Punjab on Thursday.

The cities hit by the heavy rain include Lahore, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Wazirabad and Sheikhupura.

Gujrat city was drowned due to the rain that lasted for one and a half hours. As a result, rainwater entered houses in residential areas. Two children were killed when the roof of their quarter collapsed. In Wazirabad, the power supply remained suspended for several hours.

Meanwhile, heavy rain was reported in Peshawar, Lakki Marwat, Charsadda and Samahni and Bimber. In Balochistan, Zhob Road was closed after the rain. The Met Office has issued an alert, predicted more rains in Balochistan till July 20.
