Incessant rain inundates low-lying areas; three killed in Peshawar

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Low-lying areas were inundated after incessant rain in several cities, including Rawalpindi and Narowal on Monday. Heavy rains which lashed several cities of Punjab on Monday caused havoc in the low lying areas of Rawalpindi as water of Nulla gushed into the houses besides inundating the streets causing huge trouble for the residents. The flood water that mixed with sewage water marooned several houses. On the other hand, at least three persons were killed and four others injured when the roof of their house collapsed due to heavy rains in Peshawar’s Tehsil Jamrood. The dead people include a man, his wife and daughter. Meanwhile, according to met office, rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Kashmir, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Sukkur, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Hazara divisions, FATA and Islamabad during the next twelve hours. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
