Incessant rain turns roads into canals in Punjab cities

LAHORE (92 News) - Incessant rain turned roads into streams and canals in several cities of the province on Saturday morning, impeding the smooth flow of traffic.

In Lahore, all roads and underpasses became ponds and motorists were seen pushing their vehicles in accumulated water.

Maximum rain 142mm was recorded in Gulshan-e-Ravi area. During the rain, several areas were deprived of the power supply.

Heavy rain was also reported in Multan, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi.

Meanwhile, the Met Office predicted that the rain could continue till Monday morning.

Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has ordered the relevant departments to be ready for an emergency situation.
