Increase in construction activities will improve economy: PM Imran Khan

Addressing a meeting of National Coordination Committee on Housing Construction and Development on Friday, he directed the Punjab government to approve the applications for construction activities at the earliest.

He also directed Pakistan Telecommunication and National Electric Power Regulatory Authority to work with the State Bank of Pakistan to resolve issues related to the construction sector at the earliest.

The prime minister stressed the need for public awareness regarding Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme.

Governor State Bank Dr Ishrat Hussain informed the meeting that the banks are ensuring provision of facilities to the people for obtaining loans under Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme. "Special desks will be set up in banks for loans for construction of houses," he added.
