LAHORE (92 News) – The second round of the Pak-India talks on water disputes ended inconclusively on Thursday as the India delegation rejected Pakistan’s objection to the design of Pakal Dul and Lower Kulnai hydropower projects on the Chenab River. After the failure of talks, a joint press briefing was not given on the issue. On the other hand, Indus Water Commissioner Syed Mehar Ali Shah held the high-ranking officials responsible for not issuing the joint declaration. Sources said that the Pakistan delegation had presented a weak stance on the issue. The Pakistan Water Commission has already lost the case on the Kishan Ganga and Baghaliar dams. Sources said that the reason behind losing the case is not to raise the issue on time. India has continuously been violating the Indus Waters Treaty.
