SRINAGAR (KMS): In Occupied Kashmir, the Indian authorities have withdrawn the so-called security cover from the Hurriyat leaders, including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Shabbir Ahmad Shah, on the pretext of Pulwama blast and consequent killings. Earlier after chairing a high-level meeting at the end of his visit to Kashmir, Rajnath Singh had said, “I have asked the officials concerned to review their security.” All security and vehicles will stand withdrawn by today evening, the media reports said. Meanwhile, the forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while reacting to the Indian authorities’ decision in a statement said that the Indian government and its propagandist anti-Kashmir media had repeatedly been raking up the issue to politicize it. The forum said that the authorities very well know that the move has neither bearing nor can it in any way change the reality of the lingering Kashmir dispute or the situation on ground or our principled stand and outlook regarding its resolution. The forum said the issue of Kashmir will remain the same with or without these police personnel at Hurriyat residences. It said, “The Hurriyat leaders had never asked for it,” adding that it was the decision of the authorities at that time to keep it, and today it’s their decision to remove it. “It’s not an issue for us,” it added. Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, in a statement, said that its chief, Shabbir Shah, who is presently undergoing detention in Tihar jail, had never been provided with any kind of security. The JKDFP spokesperson added that the announcement of withdrawing security was nothing but a big lie.
