Indian deputy HC summoned over LoC ceasefire violations

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Indian Deputy High Commissioner (HC) Gaurav Ahluwalia was summoned to Foreign Office on Wednesday and Pakistan lodged a strong protest over unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces along the Line of Control (LoC) on August 13. It is pertinent to mention here that 38-year-old Sarfaraz Ahmad was martyred when Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing of mortars and artillery guns along LoC, deliberately targeting civil population. Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal beckoned the Indian envoy after 38-year-old Sarfaraz Ahmad, resident of Laychayal village, was martyred in the incident. According to the statement, Indian occupation forces have continuously targeted civilian areas along the LoC and Working Boundary with artillery fire, heavy-calibre mortars, and automatic weapons. In a statement, Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said the Indian forces along the LoC have continuously been targeting civilian populated areas with heavy mortars and automatic weapons which still continue. He said the deliberate targeting of civilian populated areas is indeed deplorable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights laws. The FO spokesperson said the ceasefire violations by India are a threat to regional peace and security and may lead to a strategic miscalculation. He urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement; investigate these and other incidents of ceasefire violations, instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC. Earlier on July 29, the FO summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia and lodged a strong protest over unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces along the Line of Control (LoC). South Asia and SAARC Director General Dr Mohammad Faisal summoned Indian deputy high commissioner and denounced the unprovoked ceasefire violations. On July 28, 28-years-old Munir Hussain, a resident of Katchar village, sustained injuries in Kailer Sector along LoC. In Nezapir Sector, a woman namely Rehmat Jan, a resident of village Mandhar, was martyred, three civilians, Muhammad Naeem, 30-year-old Zainab Bibi, 57 years old, resident of Kirni village, Begum Jan, w/o Muhammad Qasim, 30 years old, resident of Mandhar village sustained serious injuries.
