Indian deputy HC summoned to protest killing of civilian along LoC

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Foreign Office on Monday summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh over the killing of a civilian in unprovoked firing by the Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC). FO spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal condemned the ceasefire violations and indiscriminate firing carried out by the Indian occupation forces in the Bagsar Sector. The unprovoked firing resulted in the death of a 26-year-old, Azeem, while a woman was injured. In a statement, the FO spokesman said the Indian forces along the Line of Control and the Working boundary are continuously targeting civilian populated areas with heavy weapons. He urged that the Indian side to permit UNMOGIP to play its mandated role as per the UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
