Indian deputy high commissioner summoned over suspension of Samjhauta Express

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Indian Acting Deputy High Commissioner Raghuram was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Dr Mohammad Faisal, the Director General (South Asia), to express concern over the suspension of the operation of Samjhauta Express on October 8. A spokesman for the Foreign Office said that over 200 passengers from Pakistan and India had faced inconvenience due to suspension of the train service. He said that the Pakistan government had taken all necessary steps to accommodate the stranded Indian passengers who were not permitted to cross the border. “We expect the Indian side to make utmost efforts to avoid recurrence of such incidents in future and facilitate the passengers from Pakistan and India,” he said.
