Indian forces martyr three Kashmiris; arrest Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani

SRINAGAR – Three people embraced martyrdom while several others were injured when Indian forces opened fire during protest against the arrest of Hurriyat Conference leader Syed Ali Geelani and others at Lal Chowk on Friday, reported 92 News. Protests broke out in Srinagar after the police detained Syed Ali Geelani before his scheduled public address. The police also arrested Syed Imtiaz Haider, Muhammad Yousaf Mujahid, Bashir Ahmed Andrabi, Javed Ahmed Ghazi, Umar Adeel Dar, Syed Zahoor Geelani and Mukhtar Ahmed. Geelani had announced to offer Friday prayers in Anantnag and was scheduled to address a public gathering there after the prayers.
