Indian media rejoicing at Ayaz Sadiq's statement: Shibli Faraz
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Federal
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz said that the Indian
media is rejoicing at the statement of PML-N leader Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
Addressing a media briefing on
Thursday, he said that Ayaz Sadiq should apologize to the nation in the
parliament.
He also asked the Pakistan
Democratic Movement (PDM) leadership to apologize to the nation.
Earlier expressing his views in
the Senate, Federal Minister for Information
Shibli Faraz said that the narrative of the opposition started from Gujranwala
and reached Balochistan after desecrating the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam.
He said that
anti-Pakistan rhetoric was being spread in the Indian media.
However, the
opposition protested during the speech of Shibli Faraz. The Senate deputy chairman
stopped the federal minister from speaking.
Saleem Mandviwala
said that the issue should be discussed after the completion of the agenda of
the meeting. "I am the spokesperson of the government and should be
provided a chance to speak," Shibli Faraz said.
The deputy
chairman replied, "You are the spokesperson, you can speak but after the
agenda, I am not stopping you to speak but let the agenda be completed."
The members had
initially tried to stop Faraz from making a policy statement on CPEC. He asked
for the deputy chairman's permission to speak, but the opposition members
interjected and didn't let him speak.
"I want to
give a policy statement under Article 265," Faraz said. The opposition
members said that the Senate should discuss its set agenda first and then the
floor should be given to the information minister.
