Indian PM Modi playing politics of Hindu extremism: Bilawal Bhutto

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in an interview with BBC, said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is playing the politics of Hindu extremism. He said that the Pulwama incident was used for political objectives. To a question about the threat of a war between Pakistan and India, he said that it is pity that Modi still wants to take aggressive steps against Pakistan. “Modi is using the Pulwama incident for his political objectives,” he maintained. “It is shameful and regretful that Modi is playing the politics of Hindu extremism. “If the Indian PM is using terrorism for politics by creating war atmosphere, he will certainly be witnessing his benefit in the coming elections,” he maintained. Bilawal Bhutto said that had the National Action Plan (NAP) implemented on time Pakistan’s position would have been different. “Then India would have no justification to accuse us of extremism and we would have a proof of steps taken against extremists,” he said. India has once again accused Pakistan of backing extremists after the Pulwama suicide attack. India and Pakistan came on the verge of a war after Indian jets that intruded Pakistani territory were shot down. Pakistan captured an Indian pilot Abhinandan who was handed over to India later. About a crackdown against banned outfits, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said: “I hope the crackdown will be conducted in a true sense this time. I wish there should be continuous implementation of the National Action Plan this time.” He said that the National Security Parliamentary Committee should be activated to keep a check and balance on the issue. About the accountability process, Bilawal Bhutto said that accountability should be done once for all to thrash out the truth. “The PPP demands a justified accountability system which should hold all accountable,” he said. The PPP chairman was of the view that the NAB was formed to only pressurize political parties. “The law is not being followed in the conspiracies being hatched against the PPP. The Article 10A gives each citizen the right to independent and fair trial,” he said.
