Indian PM Modi terms CPEC “unacceptable” in Chinese visit

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi has raised the issue of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) during his recent visit to China and called the mega project “unacceptable” to India. In a statement given by Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday, she said that the Indian government also summoned the Chinese envoy to India over the $46 billion corridor. In response, Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson on Tuesday said that Pakistan is fully committed to implement the CPEC project as it would benefit and will bring prosperity and progress in the entire region. Chinese President Xi Jinping had announced the CPEC project during his visit to Pakistan in April.
