Indian PM Modi wishes speedy recovery to PM Imran Khan

NEW DELHI (92 news) - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished on Saturday Prime Minister Imran Khan a speedy recovery from coronavirus, hours after the premier tested positive for the virus.

“Best wishes to Prime Minister @ImranKhanPTI for a speedy recovery from COVID-19,” Modi wrote on Twitter.

PM Imran Khan has tested positive for the virus as the country grapples with the third wave of the pandemic.

Following the development, foreign diplomats had also wished PM Imran Khan a speedy recovery from coronavirus.

British High Commissioner in Pakistan, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Ambassador of Switzerland to Pakistan, Australia's High Commissioner to Pakistan, were among the envoys who had wished the premier a speedy recovery.

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi Saturday wished Prime Minister Imran Khan complete recovery from coronavirus, soon after it came to light that the premier had tested positive for the infection.

The star cricketer, taking to Twitter, said: "Wishing @ImranKhanPTI a speedy recovery & complete shifa from #COVID19. This is a reminder to us all that the virus can hit any of our homes; practise social distancing, wear your masks & #StaySafe."
