MUMBAI – The Indian Supreme Court has rejected the curative plea of Yaqoonb Memon who was arrested in connection with the 1993 Mumbai attacks. The Indian president has already rejected his mercy plea. According to the Indian media, Yaqoob Memon will be hanged on July 30. He will be the first accused of the Mumbai bomb attacks to be hanged on his birthday. He was arrested on the charge of assisting the Mumbai bomb attacks and providing money to the accused. Ten people, including Yaqoob Memon’s brothers Issa and Yousaf, have been awarded life imprisonment for their involvement in the 1993 Mumbai attacks. Indian film star Sanjay Dutt is serving four-year imprisonment on the charge of buying weapons from the people involved in the Mumbai attacks.
