Indian troops martyr two Kashmiri youths in Kulgam

SRINAGAR (KMS) – In Occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two Kashmiri youths in Kulgam district on Wednesday. The troops martyred the youth during a cordon and search operation in Gopalpora area of the district in pre-dawn hours. One of the martyred youth was identified as Zahid Ahmed Mantoo. The operation continued till last reports came in. A senior police officer talking to media men claimed that the youth was a militant and was killed in an encounter with the troops. Following the killing of the youth, the occupation authorities have suspended mobile internet service in Kulgam and Shopian districts. Meanwhile, the troops launched cordon and search operations in different areas of Srinagar, Shopian, Pulwama and Bandipora districts. On the other hand, a protest was held at Tujgari mohallah in Nowhatta area of Srinagar against sale of drugs and alcohol. During the protest organized by mohallah committee, the demonstrators demanded complete ban on the sale of drugs and alcohol.
Pellet victims demand ban on lethal weapon in IOK
On Monday, pellet victims held a protest demonstration in Srinagar demanding ban on the use of pellet guns. Scores of pellets victims under the banner of Pellet Victims Welfare Trust (PVWT) from various districts of the valley assembled at press club in Srinagar. They were holding placards inscribed with slogans like ‘Pellet Gun Lethal Weapon’, ‘Ban on pellet gun’, ‘Stop use of pellet gun’, ‘Where is humanity where is UN’ and “Where is Human Rights Commission”. Mohammad Ashraf Wani, one of the pellet victims from Pulwama district, said that they are demanding ban on the use of pellet gun in Kashmir valley so that the next generation could be saved from the lethal weapon. He rejected the Indian government’s claim that pellet gun was a non-lethal weapon terming it a white lie. The protesters appealed to the common citizens of Kashmir to come in support of pellet victims and contribute towards their medical needs.
