Indian troops martyr two more youths in IOK, toll rises to 6

SRINAGAR (KMS) – In Occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two more Kashmiri youths in Badgam district on Friday, raising the number of martyred youth to six since Wednesday night. The troops martyred the two youth during a cordon and search operation at Sutsoo Kalan in Nowgam area of the district. Earlier, five Indian troops were injured in an attack in the same area. During similar operations, the troops had killed three youth in Shopian on Wednesday night and another in Kupwara yesterday. The Joint Resistance Leadership, in a statement, said that the killing of Kashmiri youths during cordon and search operations across the Kashmir Valley is painful. It also termed as a welcome move the European Parliament Members’ letter to the Indian Government in which they expressed grave concern over continued human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and demanded repeal of draconian laws, ban on use of pellet guns and action as per the recommendations in the Kashmir report of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. Hurriyat leaders, including Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Musadsiq Aadil, Mushtaq-ul-Islam and Muhammad Rafiq Ganai, in their statements said that the Kashmiri youths were laying down their lives for a sacred cause of freedom and their sacrifices would not go waste. The Chairman of Muslim Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Dar, and other Hurriyat leaders, Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Imtiyaz Ahmed Reshi, Ghulan Nabi Wasim and Ghulam Nabi War in their statements in Srinagar paid homage to the prominent martyred Kashmiri freedom leaders, Ashfaq Majeed Wani and Advocate Jaleel Andrabi, on their martyrdom anniversaries. Meanwhile, India’s notorious investigating agency Enforcement Directorate attached the property of illegally detained senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, in Effandi Bagh, Rawalpora area of Srinagar in connection with a false case registered against him. Shabbir Shah is presently lodged at New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail. A report published in Washington Post said that Indian brutalities had forced the Kashmiri scholars and educated youth to take up arms against the India’s state terrorism in occupied Kashmir. The report said that the number of young Kashmiris turning to the armed struggle was growing. The Washington Post mentioned martyred PhD scholar and Professor, Dr Muhammad Rafi Butt, among others in its report. It pointed out some of those standing up against the Indian brutalities like Dr Rafi Butt are highly educated and have promising careers ahead of them but Indian atrocities have compelled them to take to the armed resistance. On the other hand, an Indian soldier was killed after he slipped into a deep gorge at Turna in Boniyar area of Baramulla district. A 24-year-old youth was injured after he was fired upon by unknown gunmen in Midoora area of Tral. Two members of a family were killed and another was injured after their car fell into a gorge in Arnas area of Reasi district.
