RAWALPINDI (92 News) – DG ISPR Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar has urged the people to be careful individually and collectively as the next 15 days are very crucial. Addressing a press conference on Friday, he said that the people should make their houses worship places. “The civil and military leadership is fighting against the epidemic jointly. China has fully supported Pakistan in the fight against coronavirus,” he added. The DG ISPR said that India’s attempt to connect Muslims and Pakistan to the spread of the coronavirus has failed. "Indian always blamed Pakistan whenever had to face internal challenges. The Indian Army used the media to spread fake propaganda. India committed ceasefire violations 456 times within two months. Conference took the strict notice of India’s aggression at Line of Control (LoC),” Maj Babar said. "At a time when the entire world is fighting the coronavirus, extremists in India have proved the country is promoting Hindutva and saffron terrorism. Saffronisation of the Indian military and polity is a sad spectre and ill-suited during the current circumstances,” he maintained. The DG ISPR said that all of the Pakistan Army’s resources are being used to combat the pandemic. “A smart lockdown and testing, tracing and quarantining will drive our efforts against Covid-19. We will have a targeted lockdown only for virus hotspots and clusters.” Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar further maintained that the army will extend help in this regard.
Pak Army decides not to take security allowance on Corna duty
The DG told that a special conference was held under the supervision of army chief to discuss the situation created by the deadly coronavirus. “Pakistan Army decided not to take any internal security allowance for Corona duty across the country,” he added. “The COAS has instructed to carry on the training of Pakistan army officers and use all the resources to fight the virus,” Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar stated. The ISPR director general also said that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Ganeral Qamar Javed Bajwa has directed to implement steps taken to contain coronavirus with the help of civil institutions. He further expressed his concerns that the spread of virus may speed up in coming weeks. We have to take extreme care to prevent the outbreak of pandemic, he appealed.
