Indonesian President Joko Widodo leaves after two-day state tour

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – President of Indonesia Ir H Joko Widodo departed on Saturday after completing his two-day state visit to Pakistan. He was seen off by President Mamnoon Hussain at Nur Khan Airbase. Indonesian President was accompanied by a high-level delegation of ministers and businessmen. While seeing off the dignitary at Nur Khan Airbase, President Mamnoon Hussain was accompanied by First Lady Begum Mehmooda Mamnoon Hussain, Minister-in-waiting Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Senator Ayesha Raza and Foreign Secretary Tehmina Jannua.   Prior to his departure, President of Indonesia witnessed the static display of PAF JF-17 Thunder at PAF Base Nur Khan. The Indonesian president was briefed about the salient features and capabilities of the indigenously manufactured JF-17 Thunder. He showed keen interest in this sleek and state-of-the art multi-role fighter aircraft, which has been equipped with cutting edge avionics and weaponry. A reception was hosted in honor of the Indonesian president at PM House. A smartly turned-out contingent gave him guard of honour. National anthems of both countries were recited on the occasion. Earlier, President Mamnoon Hussain and President of Indonesia Ir. H. Joko Widodo have agreed to work together for peace in Afghanistan and said that peace in Afghanistan is necessary for the development and progress of the region. “Both countries will work together in this regard,” they added. The two Presidents had one on one meeting which was followed by delegation level meeting.   Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of Indonesia Darmin Nasution, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Indonesia Retno L.P. Marsudi, Minister for Trade of Indonesia Enggartiasto Lukito, Ambassador of Indonesia, Iwan Suyudhie Amri,while from Pakistani side Minister for Commerce Muhammad Pervaiz Malik, Federal Minister for Interior Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari and other senior officials were also present in meeting. Earlier, President Mamnoon Hussain and First Lady Begum Mahmooda Mamnoon warmly welcomed President of Indonesia Ir. H. Joko Widodo and First Lady of Indonesia Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo upon their arrival at main entrance of the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
