ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo has said that democratic stability is vital for economic progress. Addressing the joint session of the parliament on Friday, he said that addressing the Pakistani parliament is a matter of honour for him. “The relations between Pakistan and Indonesia are more than friendship,” he maintained. Later, Indonesian President Joko Widodo called on President Mamnoon Hussain at Aiwan-e-Sadr. Mamnoon Hussain appealed to his Indonesian counterpart to release Zulfiqar, a Pakistani cancer patient, languishing in jail. Joko Widodo said that it is a legal matter. However, he assured that the matter will be looked into sympathetically. On Saturday, Joko Widodo will hold a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to be followed by delegation level talks between the two countries. Various agreements and MoUs will be signed on the occasion.
