Inquiry launched into ‘corruption & nepotism’ in Zulfi Bukhari’s ministry

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – An inquiry has been launched into ‘nepotism and corruption’ in the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development held by Special Assistant to PM Zulfi Bukhari. The inquiry was started after Prime Minister Imran Khan received written complaints against the ministry. According to sources, routine matters are badly affected in the ministry whose performance is also being considered unsatisfactory. Moreover, performance in seven subsidiary departments of the ministry is deteriorating with every passing day. The vehicles purchased for a department established for welfare of labourers are being used by the staff of Zulfi Bukhari. It has also been disclosed that three officers have been appointed in the ministry in violation of the rules. According to sources, Special Assistant to PM Zulfi Bukhari made seven foreign visits since Sept 7, 2018. Special decoration was done in his office on his wish. Pensions in some departments have stopped. Junior officers are holding key posts in the Finance Department of the Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution. As a result, corruption is on the rise. Usman Ali Shah, one of the officers appointed in violation of the merit, is Principal Staff Officer to Zulfi Bukhari.
