Intelligence Bureau submits reply to Islamabad High Court

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Intelligence Bureau submitted the reply to the Islamabad High Court in response to an application filed by serving ASI Malik Mukhtar. In the reply, it has been stated that the names of all office holders are kept secret, while all operations and targets are also a secret. It stated that the IB notifications are not published in the Gazette of Pakistan. “Owing to its secrecy, the IB has not been notified as a Division. The details of allocated budget are not published in the annual budget. However, IB has the status of a division at the federal level. It is part of the Federal Legislative list, which is linked to the security of Pakistan,” it explained. The reply stated that no employee of the department is authorized to keep a report based on secret information. It said that the additional documents attached to the application are the violation of the Service Rules. “The applicant has registered 14 cases against the department since his appointment,” it added. The IB has sought dismissal of the application for being frivolous.
