KARACHI (92 News) – Mercury rose to 44.4 degrees Celsius in the metropolis, smashing the 74-year-old record.

Humidity in the air was recorded at five percent.

According to the Metrological Department officials, mercury is likely to increase further in the coming days. They stressed the need for planting more and more trees in the city.

Experts have advised citizens to take more water. People facing intense heat wave are facing shortage of water as well.

Citizens are compelled to purchase expensive tankers.
