Interior Ministry sets up special cell to maintain law & order on Ashura

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Interior Ministry has established a special cell to maintain law and order on Ashura and during Muharram.

This was decided during a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed on Tuesday.

The meeting also devised a strategy to maintain law and order during Ashura. It ordered to make stringent security arrangements to provide foolproof security to mourning processions. All markets, shops, roads and streets on the route of the processions have been closed.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed ordered the law-enforcement agencies to close the mobile phone service only as per need. He said that the government will ensure all technical and other support to the provinces.

"Law enforcement agencies have made special arrangements for security in sensitive departments," he concluded.
