Interior Secy issued contempt of court notice in Dr Asim ECL Case

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) has on Friday issued contempt of court notice to Interior Secretary for failing to comply with court orders of removing the name of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Dr Asim Hussain from the Exit Control List. Two-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Musheer Alam heard the case of removing Dr Asim Hussain’s name from the ECL. During the proceedings, Lateef Khosa, the counsel of Dr Hussain told that court that his client’s name was not taken off from the ECL. Justice Faiz Eesa asked if the copy of the court order was sent to the Interior Ministry to which the counsel of the PPP leader said that the government take off name from the ECL like it was giving donation. Justice Musheer Alam remarked that you people must have done the same thing when in power, which is why it is happening to you now. The further issued notice to Interior Secretary and adjourned the hearing until Tuesday.
