International Women’s Day being observed today

LAHORE (92 News) – The International Women’s Day is being celebrated in Pakistan and across the world to honor the women and acknowledge them for their services.   A woman is always playing an important role in society whether as a mother, sister, wife or daughter.   However, majority of Pakistani women are still unaware of the importance of this day in this age.   Various programs and seminars organized by civil, governmental and non-profit organizations regarding the day will be held to observe this day.   International Women's Day (IWD), originally called International Working Women's Day is celebrated on March 8 every year to commemorate the struggle for women rights. The theme for IWD this year is ‘Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50-50 by 2030’.
