Internet blackout continues in Indian-held Kashmir

SRINAGAR (92 News) – The internet blackout in Indian-held Kashmir which was to end on Saturday midnight continued across the state today with subscribers unable to access the services through wired or wireless devices. The government through an order had asked all the telecom operators snap internet facility completely for forty hours. The ban was simultaneously extended up to Sunday evening. It was for the first time that government had ordered banning of broad band supplied internet facility. Hurriyat leader Asiya Andrabi had slaughtered a cow before Eid and uploaded the video to social media. The authorities had ordered snapping of internet facility fearing law and order problem on Eid after a controversy raged when High Court directed police to implement beef ban across Indian-held Kashmir. An autocratic Dogra rule, consumption of beef is prohibited in J&K since 1892.
