SARGODHA (92 News) – An investigation committee has been formed to probe the Sargodha incident where a shrine custodian brutally murdered 20 people with knives and sticks.

Punjab Government spokesperson Zaeem Qadri and Sargodha RPO Zulfiqar Hameed are included in the committee along with the representatives of Lahore forensic lab and home department.

The investigation committee will submit a report to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in 24 hours.

Meanwhile, provincial Auqaf and Religious Affairs Minister Zaeem Qadri visited Sargodha shrine on Sunday.

Talking to media on the occasion, Qadri said that there are 552 shrines under Punjab Auqaf Department. The Sargodha shrine is not under the administration of Auqaf Department and Punjab government.

“The shrine is a property of locals, the incident has nothing to do with the security failure,” the minister added.
