Greater Iqbal Park incident: SSP Operations and SP City transferred, two officials suspended

LAHORE (92 News) – IGP Punjab Inam Ghani has transferred SSP Operations Nadeem Abbas and SP City Hassan Jahangir for negligence in the Greater Iqbal Park incident.

According to a notification issued on Friday, Badami Bagh DSP Usman Haider and Lorry Adda SHO Muhammad Jamil have been suspended.

The DIG Operations has been made the OSD. Moreover, the Greater Iqbal Park project director and deputy director have been suspended.

Earlier, IGP Inam Ghani presented a report on the woman's harassment case to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. The CM was apprised about all aspects of the incident. He was also briefed about the police response in the incident.

Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that he was grieved over the incident. "Justice will be done at all costs and negligent will be punished," he added.

Law Minister Raja Basharat, additional chief secretary and principal secretary to the chief minister were also present.
