Iranian FM Dr Javad Zarif reaches Islamabad on two-day visit

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Iranian Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Javad Zarif has reached Islamabad on a two-day visit on Thursday. The FO spokesperson said that Dr Javad Zarif  is the first Iranian FM to visit Pakistan after the new government. He said that Pakistan gives importance to her relations with Iran. Zarif will meet his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi in a one-on-one meeting. Zarif will also meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and the military leadership. He will also call on National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar. Meanwhile, Japan State Minister for Foreign Affairs Kazuyuki Nakane will also arrive in Islamabad on a two-day visit. He will meet Qureshi and other government officials. However, this will be the first foreign dignitary to visit Pakistan after the formation of PTI government. On the other hand, US Defence Secretary James Mattis confirmed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Joseph Dunford will visit Pakistan next week to meet PM Imran.
