Ishaq Dar resolves to bring back country on path to progress

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday vowed to bring the country back on path to progress.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said that the situation was very bad when the PML-N assumed the power in 2013. "It was very difficult year with regard to economic and overall situation," he added.

Ishaq Dar said that they would have to take the economy to 2017 for economic stability in the country. "The economy reached at No. 47 from No. 24 within a few years."

He said that the indicators of the micro-economic stability have been informed. "The PML-N has started work on three Es and the year 2023 can be given the name of five Es," he maintained.

Pakistan Economic Survey 2022-23 launched

APP adds: Earlier, Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Ishaq Dar formally launched the ‘Pakistan Economic Survey 2022-23’, the pre-budget document which shared key economic indicators and the performance of different economic sectors during the outgoing fiscal year.

The launching ceremony among others was attended by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of State for Finance Dr Aisha Ghaus Pasha and senior officers.

The survey highlighted the main features of policies undertaken by the government that focused on bringing the macro-economic stability and putting the economy on growth trajectory.

It comprehensively covered the country’s economic situation, besides giving a detailed picture of growth and investment, agriculture, manufacturing, mining, fiscal development, money and credit, capital markets, inflation, debt and liabilities.

The survey also highlighted the performance of agriculture, education, health and nutrition sectors, besides showing the overall population, labour force and employment, poverty, transport and communications, and per capita income.
