ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri has said that Islam talked about the rights of minorities. Expressing his views in the National Assembly on Wednesday, he said that minorities have complete independence according to Islam and the principles of the Quaid-e-Azam. “A Christian delegation had performed their religious rites in the Masjid-e-Nabawi during the period of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH),” he said. The minister said that the lesson of equality is found nowhere except Islam. “Discussion on construction of a temple is going on for the last several days. Islam has emphasized humanity and human attitudes besides the religion and creed. Minorities have complete independence as per Islam and the constitution,” he said. He said that attitude towards the minorities in Pakistan is the best as compared to the religion. “The minorities members had demanded funds during a meeting. But we refused due to shortage of funds and absence of rules,” he said. The minister said that the government had not issued funds for the temple. “The construction of the temple was stopped as it had no approval of the plan,” he added.
