Islamabad police decides to install cameras on personnel's uniform

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Islamabad police has decided to install the cameras on personnel's  uniform on the checkpoints on Sunday. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan has given approval to the project regarding making camera as part of police official’s uniforms. Under the project, video cameras will be installed on the uniforms of Islamabad policemen. The video cameras will be primarily installed on the uniform of those police personnel who appointed on check points in Islamabad. According to the sources, the cameras will be interlinked with Safe City project. The sources also informed that the cameras will be acquired this month. Conversations between police and citizens on at check points will be recorded through the cameras. During the next phase, modern cameras will also be part of the staff uniform in the police station. Fawad welcomes Islamabad’s police decision Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has said that Motorway and Islamabad police departments are ready to implement his suggestion regarding making camera as part of their uniforms. In a tweet, the minister said that he had recommended the security officers to make cameras part of their uniforms like Hong Kong to record the conversations at check points. “I am happy that the police personnel performing duties in Islamabad and on Motorway are ready to act on this step to improve security condition,” he added.
