TEL AVIV (Web Desk) Israel's security cabinet has approved the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the security cabinet has recommended that the government accept the ceasefire agreement.
According to a foreign news agency, a full cabinet meeting will be convened for the government's approval of the ceasefire agreement.
It should be noted here that on Wednesday, the Qatari prime minister announced the signing of the Gaza ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, saying that the first phase of the ceasefire would begin on January 19.
However, Israel did not immediately make any official statement regarding the ceasefire.
After the ceasefire announcement, differences in the Israeli government coalition came to the fore, and Netanyahu's far-right allies threatened to leave the government.
Netanyahu's surprising flexibility in the Gaza ceasefire and hostage release agreement had worried Israel's right-wing circles.
It has also been reported that the Gaza ceasefire agreement was made possible after direct pressure on Netanyahu by US President-elect Donald Trump's Middle East envoy, Steven Witkoff.
