ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled that it has become culture that justice is termed if the verdict is announced in one's favour.

Hearing the presidential reference seeking explanation of the Article 63A, Justice Ejazul Hassan remarked that justice is declared tainted if the judgment is announced against someone.

Justice Jamal Khan observed that the court will have to first decided whether defecting to a party is a crime or not.

Giving the arguments, PPP counsel Farooq H Naik said that the section 302 is not applied only for thinking about the murder. "The country is heading towards anarchy and no one is ready to accept the law and the constitution," he contended.

He stated the PPP had always accepted the court verdicts. "It had accepted the judgment when Gillani was sacked." He said that the Article 96 stops a member from defecting to the party. "In the 1973 constitution, the vote of a dissident was not counted. A dictator added the Article 62 and 63 to the constitution."

Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial observed that the situation is not so worst and the matters should not be discussed in general.

Later, the hearing was adjourned till Wednesday.
