It is govt’s job to count casualties, not ours, says confused Indian air chief
NEW DELHI (92 News) – Indian Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa, while addressing a press conference on Monday, was said that it is government’s job to count casualties, not of the Indian Air Force.
Responding to a question about the figure of casualties in the February 26 air strike in Balakot, the perplexed IAF chief: "The Air Force is not in a position to count casualties. We cannot count how many people have died.”
The Indian air chief said that it is for the government to say how many were hit. “We count only targets," said Dhanoa.
Admitting superiority of the Pak Army, Birender Singh Dhanoa said that they had used in the strike whatever they had.
Two Indian jets shot down by PAF: DG ISPR
The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shot down two Indian jets and one pilot was arrested, giving the first surprise to India. According to the ISPR, the Indian jets had violated the Line of Control. The PAF gave a timely response and destroyed them. The Pak Army jawans arrested a pilot who was later identified as Abhinandan.
The wreckage of one of the jets fell in the Pakistani territory, while the wreckage of another jet fell in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
One pilot has been arrested by Pak Army jawans.The captured pilot can be heard saying: “My name is Wing Commander Abhinandan. My service number is 27981. I am a flying pilot. My religion is Hindu.”

On March 1, the authorities handed over the captured Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan to Indian officials at Wagah Border, Lahore. Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman has been released as peace gesture by Pakistan.
PM announced release Indian pilot as peace gesture
Earlier, giving the policy statement during a joint session of the Parliament, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced to release Indian pilot Abhinandan as goodwill gesture.
He said that Pakistan is a peace-loving country and will take each step for establishing peace. The prime minister said that he had already stated that Pakistan will take two steps for peace in response to India’s one.
