ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan said that it was first government that was striving to stop election rigging.

He was talking to lawmakers who called on him on Thursday.

"Electronic voting is the only way for transparent elections and the people are looking towards the parliament," he added.

The prime minister said that electronic voting is the future of electoral process in the country. "Legislation in this regard must be done. All stakeholders including the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) are being taken into confidence," he added.

Earlier, Babar Awan apprised the prime minister of progress on electronic voting. "The promises made with the overseas Pakistanis and transparent election will be fulfilled at all costs," he maintained.
