ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial, while hearing the petition against the NAB amendments, remarked that it was not the job of the court to resolve the disputes created by the parliament, which should resolve its disputes.

The court remarked that the anti-corruption law existed since the creation of Pakistan and Imran Khan may be concerned about the changes in the law. "If the court does not intervene in the legal violations, it will be extremely injustice to the people. The redline on the NAB law will be set through this case," the CJ ruled.

Justice Mansoor Ali Shah inquired whether the court can interpret the fundamental rights by itself. At this, counsel Makhdoom Ali Khan contended that the court can intervene only when a branch of the government exceeds its limits.

Justice Ejazul Ahsan remarked that the matter regarding the NAB amendments is a matter of public trust in the parliament. "If it is proved in court that the public trust has been breached, the NAB will decide on the amendments from any angle."

The hearing will be held at 12:30 on February 8.
