It's possible to return presidential reference, remarks Justice Ejazul Hassan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Justice Ejazul Hassan has remarked that it is possible to return the presidential reference.

Hearing the presidential reference filed for explanation of the Article 63A on Friday, he observed that the court cannot divert from the explanation. "The attorney general will have to tell when a lawmaker will be disqualified for life," he remarked.

He remarked that the members contesting the election on the party symbol are bound to follow the party discipline.

Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial said that it was not clear in the constitution whether one has to be loyal or not. "There is severe punishment for treason."

Justice Mazhar Alam remarked that the reference had been filed even no member dissented. "Why is the President seeking opinion?"

Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel observed that the forum of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) exists for action against the dissidents.

The attorney general assured to complete the arguments till 2pm on Monday.

Later, the hearing was adjourned till Monday.
