It’s time to fight coronavirus with unity beyond politics: Punjab governor

LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar on Monday said that now is not the time to play politics but it’s time to come together and fight the novel deadly coronavirus with unity among the ranks. The Punjab governor said that the coronavirus was not just Pakistan’s problem, it’s a global pandemic that the world is having to deal with. He also mentioned that the coronavirus was out of control and did not discriminate on the basis of caste, color, creed or borders. Chaudhry Sarwar reiterated the appeal to people of Pakistan imploring them to stay indoors till a semblance of control on the virus is acheived. He also said that in current times getting ration to the needy is the government’s foremost priority. The Punjab governor further requested the wealthy of the country to step forth and help out in whatever way to take care of the poor during these extremely tough circumstances. On the other hand, the number of total coronavirus (COVID) cases reached 1,625 across the country till Sunday while 14 people have died till now. According to National Command and Control Authority, the nationwide tally of COVID-19 patients soared past 1,571 with 508 cases in Sindh, 593 in Punjab, 144 in Balochistan, 195 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 128 in Gilgit Baltistan, 51 in Islamabad and six in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. As many as 11 patients are in critical condition, while 28 patients have recovered from the infection. The virus claimed Pakistan’s 18th life on March 30 in Islamabad. On the other hand, 28 patients have fully recovered.
