PM Imran Khan refuses removal of Shahzad Akbar on Jahangir Tareen Group's demand

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - PTI enraged senior leader Jahangir Tareen like-minded group called on Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and briefed him on their concerns and presented a draft of their demands.

During the meeting, according to sources, the Jahangir Tareen Group demanded that Adviser to the Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar should be removed. However, the prime minister turned down their demand.

The prime minister said that Shahzad Akbar was performing good and justice would be done at all costs.

The Jahangir Tareen Group members said that Jahangir Tareen was being victimized under a conspiracy. "A commission comprising of former judges should be formed to probe into the matter.

Tareen's like-minded group adopted his stance that the PTI leader was being targeted for revenge under the conspiracy. They also said that the premier and Jahangir Tareen were being separated from each other. "We want PM should look into this matter himself," they added.

"We are here to meet with you (prime minister) to seek justice, Tareen has a rendered lot of services for the parliament, he should be accountable but trough a transparent inquiry."

After the meeting, Raja Riaz said that PM Khan assured him of justice with Jahangir Tareen and said that he would monitor the matter himself.
