Jam Kamal takes oath as new Balochistan chief minister

QUETTA (92 News) – Newly elected Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Jam Kamal Khan took oath of his office at Governor House on Sunday here. Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai administered the oath. Jam Kamal received 39 votes while his rival JUI-F leader Mir Yunas Aziz Zehri managed to secure 20 votes. He belongs to a royal family of Lasbella. He was born in 1973, and completed his early education from his native town Lasbella. Kamal moved to Karachi where he obtained MBA degree from a private university. He started his political career from local bodies elections and remained Town Nazim of Lasbella twice. Jam Kamal served as Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Resources from 2013 to 2018 during the previous PML-N regime. His grandfather late Jam Ghulam Qadir and his Father Jam Muhammad Yousaf also served the province as chief minister.
