Japan beat Pakistan on penalty shootout 4-1 to win Azlan Shah Hockey Cup

IPOH, Malaysia (92 News) - Pakistan beat Japan on penalty shootout 4-1 after the match was drawn 2-2 in the stipulated time on Saturday.

Japan opened the scoring in the first half. However, Pakistan drew level in and then took the lead against Japan in the second half. Japan then equalised late to send the game to a penalty shootout.

Pakistan's Arshad Liaquat and Rana Abdul Waheed Ashraf wasted their penalty shootouts, while Imad Butt pushed the goal. Japan scored goals in the first four penalty shootouts.

Pakistan bagged the silver medal. Sufyan Khan was declared Player of the Tournament.
