Japanese Naval ship arrives Karachi for maritime exercise

KARACHI (92 News) – Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force ship IKAZUCHI arrived Karachi Port on Thursday to take part in multi-national maritime exercise. According to a Pakistan Navy spokesman, during the visit, officers of both the countries’ navies held a meeting and different training sessions were also organized for staff of the ship. He said at the end of the tour, both the countries’ naval ships will take part in joint naval exercises. A day earlier, Pakistan Navy Coastal Command Annual Efficiency Competition Parade was held at PNS QASIM, Manora. Addressing the ceremony, Admiral Zafar Mehmood highlighted that Coastal Command of Pakistan Navy has been entrusted with the onerous task of safeguarding the Coast from Sir Creek to Jiwani, under challenging internal and external security situation and harsh topographic environment.
Naval chief expresses satisfaction over operational readiness
The naval chief also expressed satisfaction over operational readiness of Pakistan Navy in prevalent maritime challenges including security aspects related to Gwadar Port and maritime components of CPEC Project. The Naval Chief reiterated Pakistan Navy’s unflinching resolve to ensure seaward defence of vital maritime infrastructure and protection of maritime interests of Pakistan against all threats and challenges.
Pakistan Navy inducts first upgraded Sea King helicopters
On December 12, Pakistan Navy has inducted its 1st Marinized/ Upgraded ATR aircraft and Sea king Helicopters (Ex Mod UK) in its fleet to augment effectiveness and enhance its operational capability. An impressive induction ceremony was held at PNS MEHRAN.
