March 30, 2018
FAISALABAD (92 News) – In spite of the Punjab chief minister's directives, police failed to arrest the prime suspect allegedly involved in the Jaranwala child abuse scandal. The eight-member group raped minor children and made videos of the appalling acts to blackmail the victims and their families. A child, who was a victim of sexual abuse of the gang, revealed the group. The parents of the victim along with locals from the area have stated that influential personalities were involved in the act. The key accused Billa Don is backed by some political personalities while he is a supporter of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Talal Chaudhry. The pictures of Billa Don along with PMLN leaders taken at various public meetings have also surfaced. The accused Aqib Zia and Rashid involved in the scandal was arrested while Billa Don was still at large. This is not the first incident where child abuse has taken place in the country. Kasur child abuse scandal involved sexual abuse with children, mostly males, from 2006 to 2014. The scandal involved an organized crime ring that made videos of these deplorable acts and then sold them online for money.
