Jati Umra land: Lahore NAB recommends Rs7b reference against Sharif family

LAHORE (92 News) – The Lahore National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recommended an Rs7 billion reference against the Sharif family for acquiring thousands of acres of land fraudulently at Jati Umra, Raiwind. After scrutinizing the complaints, the NAB has sent the case to NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal for starting a regular inquiry against the accused. The reference includes 16 accused, four approvers and 100 witnesses. Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Shamim Begum, Nusrat Shehbaz, Salman Shehbaz, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz have been nominated as main accused. Sources said that the NAB had decided to include Ahad Khan Cheema in the investigation. After approval from the NAB chairman, notices will be issued to Nawaz, Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and others. Meanwhile, the NAB chairman has summoned a meeting of the executive board on Monday.
