JI continues sit-in against costly electricity, inflation for 4th day

RAWALPINDI (92 News) - The Jamaat-e-Islami continued its sit-in against costly sit-in and inflation for fourth day in Rawalpindi on Monday.

Addressing the participants of the sit-in, JI ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman accused the government of playing a double game with them.

“Arrests are being made along with holding dialogues. The government should immediately stop its cowardly acts,” he declared.

He said that the government should not turn its peaceful protest into a violent movement. “The people are committing suicide after being disappointed. We will have to end illegal agreements with the IPPs besides withdrawing the increase in Levy and taxes. The people will definitely get a relief if the matter was handled seriously,” he added.

On the other hand, women staged a protest after they were stopped to go to Islamabad to join the sit-in.
