KARACHI (92 News) – The joint investigation team (JIT) has recommended freezing of the assets of PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari, his sister Faryal Talpur and Omni Group in the fake accounts case. The JIT has requested the SECP to freeze their assets until the verdict of the accountability court lest they be shifted abroad. As per details, the JIT has recommended to freeze 37 assets, including the houses of Asif Zardari in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, his apartments in the US and Dubai and bullet proof vehicles. The JIT has also recommended freezing the sugar mills, power companies and rural and urban lands owned by Omni Group. Fake accounts case: JIT submits final report to SC Lahore Registry It has been stated in the recommendations that the Zardari Group started his business with an amount of Rs 600 in 1981 and Omni Group with 6,000 in 2001. According to the evidence, both groups embezzled the government funds, received commission and accumulated money that were later shifted to abroad through ‘Havala Hundi’.
