PIA Joint Action Committee announces to end PIA employees’ strike

KARACHI (92 News) – The Joint Action Committee (JAC) has announced to end the strike of the PIA employees.

Speaking on the occasion, JAC president Sohail Baloch said that the strike had been ended on the intervention of a generous friend.

He said that they would make the PIA stronger.

Sohail Baloch said that they would leave for Lahore to meet Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Sohail Baloch will hold a meeting with Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. 

Sources revealed that issues had been resolved before ending the strike. They said that the PIA privatization had been postponed for a year.

They said that three MNAs had played a key role in resolving the crisis. “All the three MNAs also settled issues with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif,” they added.

The sources said that the prime minister had ordered to hold dialogues to end the strike.

They revealed that the Essential Services Act would be stopped and the families of the deceased employees would be provided financial help.

After the strike, the PIA operation has been restored. 

The PIA spokesman said that flights' timing could be changed due to a rush after the strike. 

He said that the passengers should inquired the right flight time before reaching the airport.
