Joint opposition announces protest outside ECP on Aug 8

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The opposition alliance announced that they will hold a protest in front of the the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office on August 8 against alleged 'rigging' in the recently held elections. As per details, the joint opposition has also announced that they will staged demonstrations outside the provincial offices of the ECP on August 9. This decision was taken during the meeting of All Parties Conference (APC) of 16-members action committee. The opposition alliance will be called the ‘Pakistan Alliance for Free and Fair Elections’. It was also reported that the opposition parties suggested a black day be observed when PTI chief Imran Khan is elected as the prime minister in the National Assembly. Earlier, the APC convened by the joint opposition in Islamabad concluded without making a big decision on Thursday. The opposition formed a 16-member action committee to run the affairs in future. The committee comprising of Liaquat Baloch, Awais Noorani, Ghafoor Haideri, Sherrry Rehman, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Mushahid Hussain, Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, Aneesazeb Tahirkheli, Barrister Usman Kakar and Mir Kabir will finalize the name for the speaker and deputy speaker. Responding the decision of APC, PTI has decided to welcome the opposition’s decision to join the parliament. Fawad Chaudhry said that it is opposition’s right to do politics. “The APC has rejected the demand of Maulana Fazlur Rahman,” he said.
